Terms of service

Meet & Greet Requirement

  • All new dogs are required to complete a meet & greet prior to their first boarding, daycare, or Adventure Day reservation.
  • Meet & greets are used to assess temperament, comfort level, and compatibility with our environment and other dogs.
  • This session also allows us to review your dog’s routine, feeding instructions, medical needs, behavioral history, and any special care requirements.
  • Sapiens Pets reserves the right to decline services if a dog is not a suitable fit following the meet & greet evaluation.

Rates & Additional Dogs

  • Rates are charged per dog, per service.
  • Additional dogs from the same household receive a $5 discount per dog on all sevices.
    • Example: $40 for the first dog, $35 for the second dog, and $35 for the third dog.

Boarding Drop-Off & Pick-Up Policy

Boarding is designed as an overnight stay, running from 5:00 PM to 10:00 AM the next morning.

  • Drop-offs before 5:00 PM are considered daycare until boarding begins.
  • Pick-ups after 10:00 AM are also considered daycare and will be charged based on the length of care (half or full daycare rate), in addition to the boarding rate.
  • Drop-offs and pick-ups within the 5:00 PM–10:00 AM window are included in the standard boarding rate.

This helps us keep a smooth routine for all pups while making sure each dog gets the right level of care throughout their stay.

Daycare Pick-Up Policy

  • Daycare services end at 10:00 PM.
  • A $40 late fee will be charged for dogs not picked up by 12:00 AM.
  • Dogs remaining in care after 12:00 AM will be transitioned to boarding, and the applicable boarding rate will be added.

Adventure Days

  • Adventure Days are available on weekends only.
  • Availability is not guaranteed and may be affected by weather conditions, group compatibility, safety concerns, trail conditions, transportation logistics, or individual dog behavior.
  • Sapiens Pets reserves the right to determine whether a dog is a suitable participant for an Adventure Day.

Health & Vaccination Requirements

  • All dogs must be healthy and free from contagious illnesses, parasites, or conditions that could put other dogs at risk.
  • Owners are responsible for ensuring their dog is current on all required vaccinations before services begin.
  • Any medical conditions, medications, dietary restrictions, or special care needs must be disclosed prior to the reservation.

Behavior & Safety

  • Owners must disclose any history of aggression, reactivity, escape behaviors, resource guarding, or other behavioral concerns.
  • Sapiens Pets reserves the right to refuse, modify, or discontinue services for any dog whose behavior poses a risk to themselves, other animals, or people.
  • While dogs are supervised and cared for with attention and caution, owners acknowledge that interactions between dogs and participation in outdoor activities carry inherent risks.

Emergency Care

  • In the event of a medical emergency, Sapiens Pets will make reasonable efforts to contact the owner and emergency contact.
  • If immediate veterinary care is deemed necessary and the owner cannot be reached, Sapiens Pets is authorized to seek treatment on the dog's behalf.
  • Any veterinary expenses incurred during care are the responsibility of the owner.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change. However, boarding and daycare spaces are limited. When a reservation is made, that space is held exclusively for your pet. To be fair to all clients and account for lost booking opportunities, the following cancellation policy applies.

Daycare & Adventure Days

  • Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the scheduled service: No charge
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled service: 50% of the total amount due
  • Same-day cancellations and no-shows: 100% of the total amount due

Boarding

  • Cancellations made 7 days or more before the reservation start date: No charge
  • Cancellations made 3–6 days before the reservation start date: 50% of the total amount due
  • Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the reservation start date: 100% of the total amount due
  • No-shows: 100% of the total amount due

Holiday Season Bookings

Holiday periods are in especially high demand and require additional planning.

  • Cancellations made 14 days or more before the reservation start date: No charge
  • Cancellations made within 14 days of the reservation start date: 100% of the total booking amount due

Right to Refuse Service

Sapiens Pets reserves the right to refuse or terminate services at any time if:

  • Required information has not been provided.
  • A dog appears ill or unsafe to participate.
  • A dog's behavior presents a safety concern.
  • The owner fails to comply with Sapiens Pets policies or terms.

Agreement

By booking any service with Sapiens Pets, including Boarding, Daycare, or Adventure Days, owners acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service.
